Japanese marriage ceremonies – Part 1

It is always interesting to talk about Wedding Ceremonies Tradition. There are lots of places in this world that still keep the old tradition of their Wedding Ceremonies. One of them is Japanese people. But it is a bit pity since the real traditional Japanese marriage ceremonies is not something that people or normal people can see, since usually it will be only for the people who is really closed to the wedding couple such as family and closed friends. Not for for public show.
What is so interesting about Japanese marriage ceremonies? I will try to write about it a little bit here.
Well, first of all, it is interesting to see Japanese Ceremonies Tradition, because the wedding couple normally still wear the traditional Japanese dress which called kimono.
As far as I know, Shinto is the old religion from most of Japanese people. But nowadays, of course it is not the only religion for Japanese people, there is also Buddhist or Christian and other religion as well. The Japanese marriage ceremonies normally used by the Japanese people who still believe in Shinto religion. The wedding ceremony will be held in the Shinto shrine and normally it is only for private guests, from only family and close friends in attendance.
The wedding kimono dress for the bride will be in white color. They called the dress as shiro-maku which means pure white. And the bride’s updo will have beautiful style also in traditional style with beautiful accessories.
And the groom will also wear traditional wedding costume in white which is called a montsuki kimono.
There will be Shinto priest who will conduct the Japanese wedding procession and normally the ceremony will start with purifying the wedding couple. After the purification and vows are performed, they will continue with drinking sake, the traditional alcohol drink from Japan, which is known as san san kudo.
Then after that, the last thing they will do is the wedding reception for families, and friends, normally will be held in the big hall for their big party and they (the wedding couple) will greet their guests.
