Choosing the best season for your wedding – Part 2

Choosing the best season for a wedding really depends on how both the bride and groom feel. When do they want to get married, and what is their favorite season. As I was growing up, I had my dream wedding planned out. I planned the wedding around three different seasons. My three favorite seasons are spring, autumn, and winter. Summer can be too hot for a pleasant wedding. My dream spring or autumn wedding would be outdoors in the Cleveland Metroparks with a picnic type reception following. Spring is the season that new life and growth are popping up in the gardens and parks. The smell of the season brings an appetite of true happiness to the season. One can hear the new birdies tweet their love song to the happy couple. The dresses would be of pastel hues and short with either hats or ribbons to match. My wedding gown would also be short, with no veil. I would wear a hat. I am not a veil person. I can not see paying over $100.00 for a dress to wear for 1 day. My dress would be able to be worn through out the season and through summer time. The reception would consist of picnic type foods with a homemade cake.
My dream autumn wedding would also be outdoors amongst the golds, reds, yellows, and greens of the park system. Dresses would possibly be either short or long with ribbons to match for their hair. Flowers would be different shades of asters and other fall flowers. Asters are my favorite autumn flower. The greatest place to have a fall wedding would be in the Ashtabula area by one of the old covered bridges as a backdrop. The reception would be outdoors and indoors with a gazebo holding a piano, and a few instruments for music. I think the food would be labor day picnic style.
My winter wedding would be in January – after the holiday rush. The gowns would be long and with colors of wine and green velvet dresses. The reception would be in the basement of the church. Do we really need liquor for the reception. It would be buffet style with the usual foods served at weddings. The cake would be a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.
AS one can tell, I fantasize my dreams, but doesn’t most women when they wee young. Weddings are a special day, but your life as husband and wife go on forever. Weddings do not need all the fanciness to be special. If you can save on the wedding, then the couple can save some money for the honeymoon or trips taken each year. Whatever ones pleasure, make the day a happy day for all.
