Bridesmaid dress ideas for a beach wedding – Part 1
There are always lots of choices when choosing bridesmaid dresses. A beach wedding is no exception. With a few great ideas, you can have a beautiful beach wedding complete with wonderful bridesmaids dresses.
Think Easy.
This is sometimes hard to do. But with a beach wedding you want something appropriate. Appropriate doesn’t have to cut out what you want. You can still have beautiful, elegant, classy, and stunning. However, you do want to avoid things that are real billowy, after all you don’t want the wind turning your bridesmaid into a puff ball (though better her then the bride!). You don’t want something too long, or too heavy. Go with light weight, soft, elegant, and not too long (not that this means it needs to be super short either).
Choose Your Color.
You can do white for a beach wedding. The theme allows you to wear colors as a bride, and if you desire your bridesmaids can wear white. You have other fantastic options as well. You can go with muted colors for the beach theme, such as pinks, pearls, creams, tans, and peaches. Or you can go with the ocean side of the theme and stick with bright luxurious colors such as aquas, greens, blues, and purples. Often time it is best to choose your color according to what your bridesmaids look best in. If you have a pale colored bridesmaid muted pink or peach is probably not a good idea. One last idea is a black and white wedding. This can be done spectacularly against the beach background. You can have you and the groom in white and all the bridesmaids and groomsmen in black (if you wish of course).

Decorating Dresses and Outfits.
You can decorate your dresses and bridesmaids in a theme that works well with the beach background. You can use pearls or shells as accents in their hair, jewelry, shoes, or dress. You can also go with a bright exotic flower feel. You can do your flowers in muted shades of the beach or in bright rich shades of the ocean. If you are worried the wind will make them tattered you can always use silk (and save them for a life time). These can be added to the hair, the dress, and shoes as well.
Carefully Add Movement.
Billowing material is a bad idea (that poof ball look!), but you may want some material. This can be one way to liven up a light color or to add more texture and visual interest. You can use a silk scarf, a silk belt, or even a top layer of light weight material for a little bit of movement.
Shoes.
While the dress is important, the over all look is also important. Your bridesmaids can go barefoot or wear strappy shoes or flip flops. It is also a good idea to have them wear only wedge heels if you want them in heels. Flats are also a great option. Painted toe nails can add to that perfect look.
There are lots of options out there. For a beach wedding you want to think shorter then normal, somewhat fitted, and possibly in a color to match and exotic theme, beach theme, or ocean theme. Have fun with it and work with your bridesmaids so that they get something that is comfortable and attractive to them. It isn’t just about having the perfect dress, but also about having a dress that is flattering to them as well!
